Our guest today is Don Dodds, founder of M16 Marketing, one of the most successful web design and digital marketing companies in Atlanta. In 1997, he moved to Atlanta and landed a contract with Bellsouth building hundreds of websites for small business owners transitioning them from the yellow pages to the web. Today, M16 continues to help its clients succeed by consistently delivering strategic, service-driven, smart and focused digital marketing services.
With 50 percent of businesses having no marketing strategy and only 13 percent of businesses executing their strategies, M16 Marketing aims to help businesses create and carry out a marketing strategy that will help accomplish their long-term goals. Don says that a lot of people come to their company asking for help with their SEO or help to create a website, but he asks, “How can you do anything effectively if you don’t have a plan in place. You need to make sure that you understand every aspect of why you want to do what it is you want to do.”
Don says that M16 Marketing also helps companies plan, implement, execute, analyze, report, and measure additional growth. Through this, they have found that the companies who work with M16 Marketing increase their convergence by 250 percent. And Don says that this all starts through their SWOT analysis. They always begin by analyzing the internal strengths and weaknesses of the company and its external opportunities and threats.
Additionally, they help businesses to set SMART goals for themselves. Often businesses come to M16 Marketing with the goal of simply making more money, but Don says that they have to be SMART:
You can’t just say I want to make more money, you have to say I want to make more money, over what period of time, and how is that going to be accomplished? M16 Marketing is here to help businesses through that process.
