When it comes to business leadership, many companies have adopted various styles over the years that work best for that particular business. Having the future in mind as we enter into a new decade, experts now question if it’s time to change the style of our leadership for the future of our businesses. Our next guest is Jacob Morgan, one of the world’s leading authorities on leadership, the future of work, and author of the new book based on the interviews with over 140 of the world’s top CEOs titled “The Future Leader: 9 Skills and Mindsets to SUCCEED in the NEXT DECADE.”
Jacob has taken the survey responses from over 14,000 employees around the world and compared them with the insights taken from his interviews with their company’s CEOs and discovered that there is a disconnect. The majority of the insight he found the business leaders telling him, regarding their leadership styles, what they aim for their company culture, etc., did not align with the employees’ belief of direction, the current state of the company culture, nor their interpretation of their company’s leadership styles. Due to the discovered and common disconnect from leaders to employees, Morgan now questions what the leadership styles of the future will look like.
