Developing a startup, and not sure where to start? The Atlanta Tech Village is holding an eight-week startup school event to help you out. Each course will address a different aspect of establishing a startup company. From topics regarding customer discovery to pitching and funding, participants will receive a crash course in successfully building a startup company. Attendees can expect to be taught by industry experts, and enjoy lunches and networking opportunities.

2. The Consumer Show

  • Date: June 6, 2019
  • Time: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Selling directly to audiences can be tough. There is much competition out there, and it can be challenging to find a great forum to reach target audiences directly. Switchyards’ Consumer Show event helps Atlanta-based business-to-consumer (B2C) companies bridge this gap. Switchyards allows five companies to present their business directly to consumers for five minutes. This event is a great way to see what other companies are doing to make their B2C company stands out.

While workshops and classes are excellent to attend, it is also a great idea to engage in relaxed and fun entrepreneurial activities. TiE Atlanta is holding a happy hour event at Atlanta Tech Park for entrepreneurs who want to connect with similar-minded professionals. The event is free for members while non-members can attend for ten dollars. Attendees can enjoy drinks, music, and hearing more information about TiE Atlanta memberships.

5. Copywriting 101

  • Date: July 6, 2019
  • Time: 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM

While copywriting is something you may want to outsource to someone else, it is possible to save some money by learning how to write effective website copy yourself. Former senior copywriter and CEO of Marateck Creative, Julie Marateck, will teach attendees the essentials of creating compelling copy. Marateck will take attendees through guided discussions, group exercises, and interactive activities to define copywriting and explain the differences between copywriting and other types of written communication.
